In order to Improve respiratory function, breathing exercises and coughing techniques post delivery are taught to the patient on the first day. Post surgical complications can be prevented with active lower limb exercises, early ambulation, and abdominal exercises with incisional support. Incorrect posture assumed during the postpartum phase may cause injuries and musculoskeletal pain. Guidelines on maintaining a correct posture during feeding and ADL activities would help in preventing injuries and reducing pain. Pelvic floor exercises are taught to patients on day one or two post delivery to strengthen the muscles in order to prevent/reduce the occurrence of incontinence.
